I believe "personal reasons" is the number one excuse simmer's use when they want to account for recent absences. I like it. You don't have to explain yourself since no one knows who you are or where you are from (well, except TMN) and you can continue on right where you left off.
I will share why I have been absent: I went crazy for a bit, lol! Seriously. I dropped all major commitments in the simming world, asked for a bit of leeway with my Simpure duties, and even ended all WiP stories and machinima.
So I started again with a clean slate. I have been slowly getting into sims again. But only doing what I enjoy instead of what I feel I MUST do. I have turned my Simming into a hobby instead of a way of life.
I started a legacy using Pets called A Man and His Dog: The Montoya Legacy. I made rules for myself and very loosely follow legacy guidelines. I am just now getting into the second generation.
I opened a newspaper called Appaloosa Times. No link as we haven't put out a first edition yet. It is actually just part of a larger story I am writing called Byline. "Byline" is written in a made-for-TV fashion where every one's lives are connected. Each character was created by the simmer I hired on my paper. And I occasionally send out messages asking them what they want their sim to do in a certain situation in the story, sort of like role playing. It sounds complicated but it's really fun for me.
I have no real plans for any future machinima. I have an idea simmering but haven't committed it to paper just yet. And since I dropped out of GJWHF and BL as judge, I have no desire to get back into modeling as of right now.

Funny
I know, we are suppose to hate TMN cuz they are liars that post mean things and blah blah blah. Everyone reads them, some just don't admit it. And yeah, they do get awful at times. I, myself, have made the pages. But since then, I realize they are like the National Inquirer: interesting to read but not to take too seriously. All that was so I could post this link: The Undead Parrot Sketch.

GJWHF3: Debbie hasn't been doing that great but hey, I have been having fun sharing my Louisiana know-how with others. Sadly, my laziness has prevented me from not updating my modeling blog. I will have to research my old scores to get caught up.
Stories: In Harmony is still on hold due to the recent installment of the Pets expansion pack. I want to make sure things are running smoothly before opening it. But a while back, I had posted the founder of my legacy. I had a background story on him and everything. But just no drive to start one yet. Well, I have! You can check it out here. We had a big influx of members join Simpure due to Fel making the MS3B with her patterns. Most were just looking for the cc but some have stayed on to chat and post a bit. I still keep up with FB and Twitter responsibilities (mon-fri usually. We have had a couple of scheduled chats and what-nots. *meh* It shard to schedule them as we are all on different time zones.
In RL: It's fall, and the weather is nice. The kids are busy with festivals and pumpkin related schooling. I had hopes of having a new dining room or Thanksgiving but I don't think we are going to make it. Such is life.

Fall
Fall/Spring are the most beautiful times in Louisiana. I spent almost the entire weekend outside. Cut grass, pulled weeds from my garden getting it ready for fall planting, had a campfire with the kids, and even threw the football around with my hubby. Both my teams won this week, too, it was like icing on the cake, lol.
^That was just to let you know why you haven't seen me around. Now, onto Sim stuff:
I have joined GJWHF Cycle 3. I have updated my Modeling Blog with my newest pics and those can be found HERE.
SIFF Fall 2011 session is over and just waiting on results. Most won't believe it but I don't make machinima to win prizes or contests, I make them cuz I enjoy it. So if I forget to post "scores" just remind me and I'll check, lol. Along those lines, I am making a new "Halloween" themed machinima. Nothing too over the top, just vamp and sex type stuff. I have already spent hours on it and have like 30 seconds of clip. Machinima = Time Consuming.
I have been working on redesigning the FB page of Simpure. It should be up and running in a few weeks. I will post a link when I have it done. Being a "Social Media Coordinator" is really quite fun. I enjoy reading through the site finding fun things to tweet and update FB with. I ignore the drama from others the best I can, because really, Sims is a hobby, not a religion.
"In Harmony" is on a short hiatus. I love my story, I feel emotionally invested in Drake, Chloe, and Toby. LOL! But sometimes you just need a break, you know? So I am going to take another two weeks off. Then I will come back with a wedding shower thrown by Chloe and Drake having a wild bachelor party. Followed by the wedding pictures/video shot by moi.

Sept 14
Yea, I ran out of ideas for titles so I just wrote the date.
SIFF premiere's this Thursday! I have a very basic video editing program so as much as I would like, I am unable to make an actual video. So I am contributing a musci video. But I am working with an idea for HH that would allow voice overs but its daunting and would require a lot of work. For now, I will hold off on jumping into a new project.
GJWHF3 starts tomorrow, I do believe. BGS is still running. In Harmony comes out tomorrow night. (Might have to make it earlier as LSU has a game tomorrow night too and I can't miss that,lol.)
My side-side project (I have tons of projects just waiting in the wings, it seems.) is designing a compact webpage for Simpure. Its really me just having fun working with graphics and designs. With the occassional pic thrown in. It's slow going and will probably take me a month to complete. *shrugs* SO don't hold your breathe, lol!
RL: Hubby took off yesterday to help some guys fix our roof (hopefully). We won't know until we get a good rain, then we can see what happens. He went to bed super early cuz he was beat. Then after I got the kids in bed, he got up and wanted to watch a movie! LOL, so thanks to him, I am sleep deprived. Oh well, such is life....

New Job
Things have gotten reorganized over at Simpure Thoughts. I was offered the job of Social Media Coordinator. Its basically like advertising. I admit, it has added to my work load but its the fun techie stuff that I enjoy doing.
In Harmony: Harmony and HH episodes are getting rearranged. I am going to start posting episodes of In Harmony on Thursdays nights. And Harmony Happenings is going to become a once a month thing. I want to change the format and need time to get things settled for that. But Fel WILL be the featured Simself when it comes out. Also, I created a page for it on FB. It was something new to try out. You can like the Page and see when new episodes are posted and also some interesting pics that don't make it into episodes.
SIFF: I am still hoping to get this done. I really want to try my hand at making the poster but time is running short. It is due to premier on the 15th of this month. I am behind on my schedule but I hope to clear some time for it this week.
BGS: We just completed Assignment Three and are moving along at a good pace. We made our first elimination and are now down to 14 contestants. There is some real talent going on in this competition. I can't wait to see the new photos this week.
GJWHF3: Fel is gearing up to get this started. I already have a model picked out. Its the truly adorable Debbie Kliene. I have plans on incorporating her daughter into a story I have planned for months down the road, so it will be fun to see how she does in this. Its been a while since I have competed, I need to brush up on my skills, lol.
RL: Rain is gone, roof is drying up. We have found the reason behind the leaks and will be working on fixing it this weekend.

Tropical Storm Lee
I just thought spotty internet and power failures would be the worst of this storm. Nope, its not. After enjoying a brief time of electricity, we have discovered that the roof to our addition is leaking!
Yes, the fates HAVE conspired against me. I have spent the last hour mopping up puddles and crying at the damage. When my brother came over to see what he could do, he caused a brief down pour in my EXISTING kitchen. But I must admit, after that, the leaks stopped.
I am heart broken right now. The cost to repair the damage is going to push us over budget. Which means I will be begging the bank to loan us more money, not an easy chore.
But take heart, we will recover. AND ... I shall still be around, just maybe not as much.
